Final day of the course - and it has been awesome. Plenty of ideas and resources to revisit and implement - I am looking forward to checking out what other people in my subject areas have put together. Keep it Simple is pretty good advice I reckon.
There have been lots of lightbulb😲 moments for me throughout this course - its like - jeepers so thats what this is all about. A little bit excited about continuing this learning journey - its kind of like a "hit refresh" - @ a stage of life / career where a fresh impetus has been needed. Cool.
I have appreciated the value which has been indicated by Dorothy and the DFI team - towards teachers for being who they are. As an older teacher playing the digital world catch up game - sometimes I have felt of less value / irrelevant /disempowered - in the changing face and emphasis of education.
That is always where the students help me out - their unconcious validation through their enthusiasm for whatever it is we are up to - bring a sense of worth. So for me - there has been a big shift over the progress of the course - from defensive mode towards the system to an upskilling mode within the system. Cool as.
Yay!! passed the exam. Now I know how the kids feel. Sort of sick in the stomach but so relieved to get through. Now I can understand a little better how sometimes students are reluctant to even begin the process - let alone go through the process. I think I may have forgotten that feeling. Its all come back now. Nothing like going through something yourself to develop some empathy.
Well thats me - once again - thank you so much to the whole DFI team.
